The Program Officer of Youth Success is a member of the Community Engagement & Impact (CEI) team, reporting to the Director of Youth Success. The Program Officer is responsible for implementing the Foundation’s grant making programs and strategic initiatives for the Youth Success Impact Area. They must be knowledgeable about broad community issues to assist in implementation and provide feedback for the Area Foundation’s grant and programmatic investments, as well as honor our donor’s intent in all aspects of our work.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience: Nonprofit experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of foundation, agency or philanthropic or other relevant work experience and 3 years management experience.
  • Knowledge of or aptitude to quickly learn Foundant GLM.
  • Must exhibit a high-level of knowledge and application of best practices in the cradle to career continuum, community engagement, and impact.
  • Implement the Foundation’s Youth Success grant making programs with integrity and intentionality to benefit the San Antonio region in highly impactful ways which achieve the community transformation we seek, while being excellent stewards of philanthropic dollars.
  • Work in partnership with the Director of Youth Success and the Grants Strategy team to imagine, develop, and implement strategic and innovative grantmaking.
  • Work with Senior Program Officers to implement and complete CEI grant processes, recommend grantees, and report progress.
  • Work with the Director of Youth Success to successfully implement the Bexar County Future Ready plan, build and nurture relationships with partners, and track outcomes for organizational and community benefit.
  • Work with the Director of Youth Success to recruit and support informed, diverse Community Advisory Committees and equip them with the training and tools to make excellent funding recommendations and decisions.
  • Serve as contact for partners regarding grant process and arrange for technical assistance, funding priorities information and guidance as needed, and support regarding suitability of their requests and applications.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with public and private organizations to develop a community-wide network to accomplish Foundation’s strategic directions.
  • Collaborate with Director of Youth Success and the Grants Strategy team to design evaluation strategies and metrics to ensure funding outcomes are achieved.
  • Collaborate across teams to provide information for press conferences, newsletters, annual reports, websites, social media and other public relations efforts.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Youth Success to recruit and support informed, diverse Community Advisory Committees and equip them with the training and tools to make excellent funding recommendations and decisions.
  • Assist with the communication of information and impact of Foundation’s grant processes and strategic initiatives – to policymakers, target communities, other funders and the general community.
  • Keep current on issues of importance to the Foundation by literature review, contact with social and professional communities, and participating in relevant learning opportunities.
  • Serve as a positive representative of the Foundation and an advocate of its programs to the broader community of donors, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and funding entities.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS

  • Provide relevant one on one and cohort support that follows and propels the Foundation’s Capacity Building goals forward.
  • Work in partnership with the Director of Youth Success and the Grants Strategy team to imagine, develop, and implement strategic and innovative grantmaking.
  • Work with Senior Program Officers to implement and complete CEI grant processes, recommend grantees, and report progress.
  • Work with the Director of Youth Success to successfully implement the Bexar County Future Ready plan, build and nurture relationships with partners, and track outcomes for organizational and community benefit.
  • Work with the Director of Youth Success to recruit and support informed, diverse Community Advisory Committees and equip them with the training and tools to make excellent funding recommendations and decisions.

  • Collaborate with the Director of Youth Success to recruit and support informed, diverse Community Advisory Committees and equip them with the training and tools to make excellent funding recommendations and decisions.
  • Assist with the communication of information and impact of Foundation’s grant processes and strategic initiatives – to policymakers, target communities, other funders and the general community.

Compensation: $70,000
